Mindful List #4

Power On

What was your first thought as you powered on/opened up your computer today?

I went back to work today. Now before you get excited that new things are coming [or just excited for me] let me clarify. I went back to real work today. The work that pays the bills. The work when i clock in, sit in a chair and apply myself 110% to numbers and fixtures and streaming data. The work that has nothing to do with writing, photography, knitting, crafting or twitter.

And, as twitter is seriously my newest baddest addiction lately, i feel pangs of despair when i leave for work, knowing it will be another 9 hours until i reach a computer that is my own again. There is no need to tell me that is pitiful. Trust me, i am already painfully aware.

That being said, the first thing i think of when i fire up my computer clearly depends on which computer i am firing up. Usually however, i attempt to fire my own up before i head off to my job, and complete a little soul... no wait blog searching for my amusement. Sometimes i am even inclined to write a little summin summin prior to jumping in my car and beginning to commute. Most mornings, however, i'm rushing. I'm rushing to take the puppy out, rushing to make my lunch, rushing to straighten my dreadfully curly, but not curly enough to look good hair, that i usually only have time for the quick "blogroll sweep."

So! To (finally) answer the prompt for today, commonly my first thought when i fire up my computer is ... "i'm giving myself 15 minutes and then i absolutely must get up out of this comfy chair and scramble out the door"

However, someday soon i hope it will be "i am so excited to check out what is new in the world of my blog idols (again with the creepy feeling?!) and hopefully be moved to make a read-worth entry of my own.

Cheers to tomorrow folks, how you are all enjoying your new year.

PS. how does one use the "strikethrough" font format on blogger?

One Love
