"trust yourself. create the kind of life you will be happy to live with all your life. make the most of yourself by fanning the tiny, inner sparks of possibility into the flames of achievement."
- foster c. mcClellan
As you may or may not be away, I am currently having a love affair with a concept known as delicious. For those of you that are new to the social media concept, delicious is an application created to organize and share articles, as found mostly through the likes of twitter/blogs/forums, etc. It provides a place for readers of all kinds to "save" an article that they either want to re-read, share with others, or just keep on file because it's too darned good to let float back into the abyss of the world wide web. Let me also mention now, that latter happens quite a bit. For example, you begin floating down the blog rabbit hole (you know the type, you start off reading about someone you know, and pretty soon you are reading about someone in Iceland who is obsessed with collecting bottle caps). More often than not however, you stumble across an incredible article that challenged your belief system, blew your socks off, and/or made you re-consider everything you have come to know is true and right in the world. And you don't want to loose it.
So what do you do? You upload it to delicious. Not only does it save that article for you for a time when you are ready to fall down the rabbit hole again, it also lets you organize your "saves" by using hashtags (and again for you social media new folks, hashtaging means that you can give it a category). The advantage of this is, is that once you start to add a kazillion favorite articles, you will be able to pull up only the ones relating to a certain category, when you are in that kind of mood.
Also additionally, and the purpose of this explanation, delicious allows its users to share their bookmarked articles with whoever is interested (this means, any of you!). With a collection of 22 articles so far, I'm beginning to build my own mini library that you may or may not find interesting/helpful/inspiring. Feel free to use me and my list as an avenue to your hopes and dreams (I would be honored).
Futhermore - on speaking of social media, and such, i can also be found tweeting way too much for my own good, and slowly developing my amateur photography skills (i really need more subjects, rather than using my dog) (he is, however, an excellent model) (i think he is just attention hungry all-the-time).
That being said, I am willing to provide my writing/paper craft/creative business consulting services at any time, in exchange for the opportunity to learn/work under/volunteer for anyone willing to teach me a thing or two about photography. I come with my own camera (just thought i would clear that up).
